WEB- BASED ENHANCEMENTS
New Multi-Project Capabilities
Multiple projects can now be opened on the web via a new double-sided pick list which provides for selecting individual projects, an entire EPS or project portfolio, and multiple projects based on a code value. 6.2 also supports cut/copy/paste operations on activities across multiple projects.
Project Gantt Chart portlet
Primavera 6.2 introduces a new Project Gantt Chart portlet on the dashboard. This portlet displays a Gantt chart view of all projects displayed on the dashboard. The portlet provides a high-level view with quick multi-project drill-down capabilities to support detailed project analysis
New Activity Details Windows
Primavera 6.2 introduces activity details windows for relationships, resource assignments, steps and notebooks. These detail windows remain visible while navigating through the activity list, streamlining the building, updating and analyzing of project schedule details.
Assign resources or roles to multiple activities
A new toolbar button is provided to assign resources or roles to selected activities in one click. This reduces the time needed to assign needed skills and staff the project's activities.
Trace Logic View
A Trace Logic View is displayed below the activity table and Gantt chart in the activity view. Easily analyze schedule logic with the Trace Logic view, using one-click functionality to navigate through the activity network.
WINDOW CLIENT ENHANCEMENTS
Expanded support for future period buckets
In previous versions of P6, update baseline functionality could not be leveraged for projects that use future period bucket planning. Therefore, the 'update baseline' process has been enhanced to support updating future period bucket planning in the baseline. In addition, the Primavera XML format now supports future period buckets during export and import.
Option to calculate float on all opened projects
A new scheduling option allows for calculating activity float based on the finish date of all open projects instead of per project. When enabled, this provides greater flexibility for calculating a 'program' float that considers the finish of all open projects.
